Re: Academic and Return to Residence Schedules for January

Monday, December 20, 2021

To the campus community,

Earlier this afternoon, on behalf of the Academic Leadership Team, I presented recommendations to the University’s Senate related to the schedule for the completion of exams from the fall term and the beginning of the 2022 winter academic term.

I am pleased to report that, after thoughtful discussion, Senate approved a plan that has an on-line exam period early in the new year to allow students to complete all exams deferred from December. Classes will resume on January 17th online after the deferred exam period ends. In-person classes will resume on Monday, January 31st.

As mentioned above, there will be no classes scheduled on Friday, January 28th to accommodate students returning to residence in preparation for in-person classes to begin on Monday, January 31st.  University Housing will be sending more information to students regarding move-in protocols as they become available.

I want to publicly acknowledge and thank the Academic Leadership Team for their tireless work in developing the recommendations that were presented to Senate.
