Jane Fraser
Jane Fraser, CPA, joined the Schwartz School of Business in 2021 in the Department of Accounting and Finance. Professor Fraser teaches courses in Introductory Financial Accounting, Introductory Managerial Accounting and Auditing. She is currently pursuing a PhD at Saint Mary’s University, where her research focuses on fraud responsibility and governance in non-profit and public sector entities. She has also authored several business cases to be utilized in undergraduate or graduate classrooms. Professor Fraser is passionate about creating experiential learning opportunities that allow students to apply accounting concepts to real-world scenarios, preparing them for success in their careers and the Chartered Professional Accountant program. Prior to joining StFX, she was a Manager in the Assurance practice of a large public accounting firm, working with clients across various industries, including mid-size to large private entities, public sector organizations, and non-profits. She has also worked as a marker, helping CPA candidates across Canada in preparation of their Common Final Examination. Professor Fraser serves as Treasurer for two community volunteer associations, demonstrating her commitment to giving back and applying her expertise to benefit her local community.
