Materials Availability:

Most books and articles are requestable via our ILL service, however, some items are not available or difficult to obtain via Interlibrary Lending. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Reference books
  • Specialized collections
  • Rare items
  • Most audiovisual materials
  • Electronic Media (including ebooks, video, and audio)
  • Current course text books
    • Most course texts are newly published, making them difficult to obtain as ownership rates are low.  You may luck into a loanable copy, but your safest option is to purchase these required texts from the campus store or retailer of most convenience.

Distance Students, Faculty & Staff studying/working internationally

Distance students, faculty and staff studying or working outside of Canada should be aware that we do not ship physical items internationally.  If you need an entire physical work, please use your local library as your first resource as this will be the fastest and cheapest option to get the material you need.  You can access our online collection from anywhere in the world with your StFX credentials, and you may request scans of book chapters or articles within copyright parameters via our ILL service.
