Chris Greencorn is an ethnomusicologist and arts administrator from Nova Scotia. Chris holds a master’s degree in Ethnomusicology from the University of Toronto, where he focused on issues of race and representation in the archival collection of Nova Scotia folklorist Helen Creighton. He has presented his work at the annual meeting of the Society for Ethnomusicology and is currently preparing his MA research for publication.

Chris has spent most of his life deeply involved with Canadian folk music festivals. He spent ten years volunteering for the Stan Rogers Folk Festival before joining the event staff for five years and finally serving as the festival’s Artistic Director for and additional two, prior to COVID-19. Chris has been an adjudicator for the Junos and the East Coast Music Awards, an active participant in industry events across Canada, and a delegate abroad at Folk Alliance International and as part of the Folk Spot program at Tønder Festival in Denmark. On the side, he runs a small artist & event services company, Seachange Music.
