International Placement

International experiences are normally offered annually to final year pre-service students going into their final placements. Previous destinations include Norway, Australia, Kenya, Belize, Iceland, Scotland, and Sweden. These placements are faculty initiated and dependent on international locations being able to host a final placement, faculty availability, and student interest. The expenses for travel, food and lodging are the responsibility of the participants. Immersed in a different culture, students see how cultural factors influence educational policies and practices. Pre-service teachers are accompanied by a St FX Faculty of Education member who fulfills the role of Faculty Advisor.
