Delivery Format
Each cohort is based out of one of the Nova Scotia Regional Centres for Education. Classes are normally presented on mid-week evenings (online, 6-9pm) and Saturdays (face-to-face, 9am-4pm) with occasional fully online courses. The program consists of 10 3-credit courses delivered over two years. The latest tuition overview is available on this page under ‘Per-Credit Fees’. The Nova Scotia Office for Teacher Certification (OTC) has approved this program for an increase in certificate classification. If you plan to request an increase in teacher certification classification upon completion of the program, the OTC requires that you obtain pre-approval prior to commencing the certificate program. Please Note: All Master’s Level courses offered as part of this program are optional courses for the St. Francis Xavier M.Ed. programs. Students graduating from this certificate program would still be able to complete a subsequent M.Ed. degree without duplication of courses. All courses have been approved as part of the quality assurance process at StFX by its university Senate.
