Set up your StFX account
Your StFX account is your key for accessing important campus services, including course registration, campus wifi, and printing services. It also serves as your main form of communication between faculty and staff during your time at StFX. Make sure to check your StFX email regularly to avoid missing important information!
StFX Email Login Instructions
Here are the steps to login to your StFX email for the first time:
- Visit microsoft365.com
- Login using your StFX username and password (provided in your acceptance package)
- Set up your MFA/recovery information to ensure you can access your account
- Click the 'Outlook' tile
- Download Office 365 to your laptop/tablet/phone (including Outlook)
Register for your classes
First-year students register for courses at the beginning of July. You will receive an email to your StFX account with your assigned registration time in the weeks ahead. In the meantime, review the Academic Calendar and the New Students Registration Guide to get familiar with this year's course offerings and the registration process.
What is Banner Self-Service?
Banner is the software that supports StFX's student information system. You will use it to register for courses, view your grades, or obtain your T2202A forms. Access Banner Self-Service using your StFX account.

Finalize your finances
Make sure you have financial resources in place for your education. Not sure if you will require financial aid? Need help building a budget? Check out the info and support available through our Financial Aid Office.
Register for X-Act
The six-week X-Act program developed by the Student Success Centre and the StFX Health and Counselling Centre is delivered by upper-year students. This program will help you develop and enhance skills and strategies needed to succeed in your first year at StFX. Topics include time management, coping with stress, studying, academic integrity, using a syllabus, and more. When you complete the program, you can earn bonus points to apply to a participating first-year course of your choice!
