Requirements

  • 6 Credits of introductory (101, 102 or 121, 122); 
  • 6 credits of organic (221, 222); 
  • 3 credits of analytical (265); 
  • 3 credits of inorganic (245); 
  • 3 credits physical (231); 
  • 3 credits Organic Structural Methods (325 - required in the junior year); 
  • 6 credits of chemistry electives from 232, 255, 331, 332, 341, 342, 355, 361, 362, 421, 422, 423, 445, 452, 455; and 
  • 6 credits of CHEM or another science

Total of 36 credits, plus the non-credit seminar courses 391 (junior year) and 491 (senior year).

Major students are required to attend all department seminars during their junior and senior years.

Year 1: CHEM 101, 102 or 121, 122; MATH 106, 107, or 121, 122, or 126, 127; BIOL 111, 112; 12 credits of arts electives 
Year 2: CHEM 221, 222, 245, 265; PHYS 101, 102 or 121, 122; STAT 231; PHIL 213; 6 credits arts electives
Year 3: CHEM 231, 232, 255, 325, 391; 6 credits approved electives, 12 credits open electives
