StFX takes great pride in the steps that have been taken to modernize the University’s energy usage, and the Facilities Management Department is often a part of it. Below, you will find some points of pride: past projects that have improved StFX’s energy efficiency. 

Brian Mulroney Hall Receives LEED® Gold Certification (2022)

Mulroney Hall, the state-of-the-art teaching and research complex that opened in the heart of the StFX campus on September 18, 2019, has achieved LEED Gold (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design).

Energy-Efficient Windows Added to Morison Hall (2021)

Morison Hall received several renovations in 2021, including new energy-efficient windows that eliminated the need for curtains and helped regulate indoor temperatures.

Bloomfield Solar PV System (2015)

This solar PV installation was the result of a joint partnership with the Student Union and StFX. The system capacity is 10.4kW, consisting of 40, 260W solar panels. The system started producing energy on June 30, 2015.
